Innovations
We encourage and promote Innovations. ‘Innovation in Science Pursuit for Inspired Research’ (INSPIRE) scheme is one of the flagship programmes of Department of Science & Technology (DST), Government of India. The INSPIRE-MANAK (Million Minds Augmenting National Aspirations and Knowledge), being executed by DST with National Innovation Foundation – India (NIF), an autonomous body of DST, aims to motivate students in studying in classes 6 to 10. The objective of the scheme is to target one million original ideas/innovations rooted in science and societal applications to foster a culture of creativity and innovative thinking among school children.
At Kendriya Vidyalaya No. 1 Imphal, primary education focuses on active, hands-on learning to help young minds transition smoothly from abstract thinking to concrete understanding. To strengthen Foundational Literacy and Numeracy (FLN) in primary classes, the Primary Section conceptualized and executed a studentled initiative: the Mathematics Self-Help Kit. Guided by the primary mathematics teacher, Class 2 students actively created, personalized, and assembled their own Teaching-Learning Materials (TLMs). By shifting the responsibility of tool development to the students, this program instills a strong sense of ownership, peer collaboration, and genuine joy in learning numbers and spatial geometry..
